LEBANON, N.H (June 22, 2018) -- Marker introduces its 2018/2019 line of ski bindings, helmets, goggles and protective gear with products catering to the on mountain needs of skiers from every segment of the sport.

A leader in ski binding technology since the 1950s, Marker’s hallmark is innovation, with new game-changing products hitting the market for each new season. Marker also supplies system binding technology for several leading ski brands.

The 2018-2019 line’s most distinguished gear includes GripWalk, the Jester 18 Pro, Marker Alpinist 12, and the MAP line of helmets, protective gear, and goggles.

This winter’s most notable innovations include:

GripWalk - We see a future in which many more skiers will enjoy the benefits of easier and safer walkability in ski boots. Marker and all the GripWalk partners (a full list is at www.grip-walk.com) are offering more models than ever with GripWalk soles pre-installed, and all Völkl ski/binding systems in the 18/19 collection are now GripWalk ready, meaning they can accommodate either alpine soles or GripWalk (AT norm) soles. New for 2018 is GripWalk Junior, making further progress toward making the sport easier to learn by making it easier for even the youngest skiers to walk around the resort. The GripWalk boot sole itself, available from many suppliers including Dalbello, has a convex shape and ribbed tread with rubber soles, adding walking comfort and providing much better grip. Integrated pads made of stiff, rigid materials guarantee great power transmission and precise release function of the binding.

Jester 18 Pro ID - The Jester 18 Pro ID's exclusive Triple Pivot Elite toe features a horizontal torsion bar reinforcement, enhancing power and lateral precision. Besides it's a pretty handy tool to scrape off the snow from the boot sole. With an athlete-driven 8 to 18 DIN range, the Jester Pro is for the highest end riders on the hill, but much of the technology finds its way into the more consumer-friendly Jester 16 ID and Griffon 13 ID. The ‘ID’ in the name refers to Marker’s SOLE.ID technology, which allows the shop to precisely adjust the toe of the binding to fit either Alpine or Touring norm boots.

Marker Alpinist 12 - With the new Alpinist, Marker delivers its lightest-ever touring binding and re-defines the ratio of weight to performance. At 490 grams per pair, it takes the traditional PinTech design and adds functionality with zero degree, 5 degree and 9 degree climbing aid positions. The heel features a fixed upward release and an adjustable lateral release function, and a 15mm range of adjustment.

Marker MAP Protection - Available in Marker’s 2018/19 line of helmets, goggles, and back protectors, MAP is an innovative, closed-cell foam delivering multi-impact absorption. The specific weight of MAP is extremely low compared with previous protective materials. Under normal conditions, MAP (Multi-impact Adaptive Polymer) is pleasantly soft and flexible, ensuring freedom of movement and comfort. Upon impact, MAP begins to stiffen even while the strike is still happening, helping to absorb energy.

About Marker

For more than six decades Marker has been synonymous with innovation and safety in skiing. Hannes Marker presented the world's first safety release binding back in 1952. In the 1970s his M series with automatic heel release, revolutionized the bindings market. With the launch of the Duke in 2007 and the continued development of the Royal Family, Marker has set new standards in the Freeride and Freestyle segments. Being able to work closely together with some of the world's biggest and well-renowned ski companies allows Marker to not only develop their own top level binding components, but to also design factory systems that are perfectly matched to the individual skis. Since the launch of Protective Snow Equipment in 12/13 season, the company located in Penzberg, Germany, is also introducing innovations in the sector of helmets, goggles and body protectors.
